It’s like a winter’s Calvin and Hobbes comic out here. It’s a post-christmas winter wonderland!
And it’s quiet, all unnatural sounds muffled by the snow, leaving only the occasional tweet and light whistling wind through the snow covered pines. The streets are snowplowed according to the frequency of their use, and streetlights provide almost no light in this dark Oregon valley.
But the darkness allows the stars to truly sparkle. I just sat for an evening crunched up in the snow looking up at the familiar constellations and marveling at all the new ones only visible when it’s most dark out.
